Travelling through several European countries, this delightful luxury Danube River cruise begins in the charming city of Passau. We then sail the mighty Danube with time in the imperial cities of Vienna, Budapest and the capital city of the Slovak Republic, Bratislava, as well as the impressive Austrian Town of Melk.
Day 1
Travel to via Eurotunnel to Mannheim for our overnight stay at the
Radisson Blu Hotel on a half board basis.
Day 2
Passau
We arrive in Passau and board our ship the VIVA TWO. The Viva Two boasts a Riverside & Bistra restaurant, fitness centre, small pool & putting green on the sun deck.
All cabins on this Premium ship are perfectly equipped with a flat screen tv, included mini bar, hairdryer, safe, air-con, walk in shower.

Day 3
Krems
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Wachau apricot and join us on a visit to a traditional apricot farm. Our excursion takes you to one of the region’s most renowned fruit growers, where you’ll learn everything about the cultivation, harvest, and processing of the famous Wachau apricot. You’ll be introduced to the secrets of apricot production and have the opportunity to tour the fields of apricot trees. To round off the tour, you’ll of course have the chance to sample some of these delicacies and discover the incomparable taste of the Wachau apricot for yourself. It’s well worth it! Day 4
Vienna
Vienna, the capital of Austria. On this tour, you’ll discover Vienna’s most historically significant landmarks. We begin with a drive along the famous Ringstrasse, where we admire the city’s impressive buildings, including the State Opera, the Museum of Art History, the Museum of Natural History, as well as the Hofburg Palace, the Parliament, City Hall, the University, and the Stock Exchange. As we drive past numerous palaces and monuments, you’ll also see tributes to renowned composers, poets, and artists. After the drive, we enjoy a stroll through the inner city. On the way to the iconic St. Stephen’s Cathedral, you’ll have the chance to soak in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. At the cathedral, we pause briefly to take in its stunning architecture before continuing our walk along the bustling Kärntnertorstraße and then making our way back to the ship. (Coach & Walking)
Day 5
Budapest
Join us on an unforgettable city tour through Budapest – a city where imperial grandeur, vibrant culture, and stunning views meet in perfect harmony. Your journey begins on the lively Pest side, where a comfortable coach takes you to one of the city’s crown jewels: St. Stephen’s Basilica. Step inside to admire its soaring dome, ornate details, and deep sense of history. Continue to Heroes’ Square, framed by statues of Hungary’s great leaders, before gliding along elegant Andrássy Avenue past the State Opera House and the city’s bustling heart. Crossing to the scenic Buda side, enjoy a panoramic drive with sweeping views of the Danube and its iconic riverbanks. Take in the splendour of the Gellért Hotel, the rise of Gellért Hill, and the beauty of Budapest’s historic bridges linking both sides of the city. As the view opens toward Castle Hill, crowned by the majestic Buda Castle, the route along the Pest embankment offers a final, unforgettable perspective on this city of timeless elegance. Day 6
Komarom
Look forward to a relaxing half-day excursion to the charming city of Győr, one of Hungary’s most beautiful Baroque cities. Just a short drive from Komárom, a picturesque old town full of history, color, and a lively atmosphere awaits you. On a guided walking tour, you’ll discover the cobblestone streets, colourful facades, and bustling squares of this historic city. Highlights include Széchenyi Square—the heart of Győr—as well as the impressive City Hall, an architectural landmark and proud symbol of the city’s history. Following the tour, you’ll have some free time before heading back to Komárom in comfort.

Day 7
Bratislava
Experience the captivating capital of Slovakia: Bratislava. This historic city, located at the junction of Slovakia, Hungary, and Austria, has long been a meeting point for various cultures. Once known as the coronation city of Hungarian kings, Bratislava now exudes a blend of historical charm and modern dynamism. During a walking tour of the old town, admire the splendid Gothic and Baroque buildings that make the city an architectural gem. Stroll through the narrow streets, past medieval churches and vibrant squares that reflect Bratislava’s rich and eventful history. A short ride on the ‘Bimmelbahn’ (tourist train) and a taste of a local Slovak delicacy, offering a delicious insight into the regional cuisine, complete this delightful excursion. Day 8
Melk
The imposing Baroque building of Melk Abbey, built in the early 18th century, towers majestically over the town. Your journey begins in the abbey, where you will be guided through, a magnificent courtyard that impressively reflects the Baroque splendour of the monastery. The tour continues through the former imperial rooms, which now serve as museum rooms and offer a fascinating insight into the history of the abbey and its imperial guests. Another highlight is the magnificent Marble Hall and the Altane, a terrace from which you can enjoy an impressive view over the Danube Valley. Conclude with a visit to the magnificent Baroque abbey church. Experience Melk Abbey as a living place of history, art, and culture.

After breakfast we depart for start our journey home, staying at the Altdeutsche in Rudesheim for an overnight stay on half board basis. After breakfast we make our way back to the Eurotunnel for our return crossing.
