Other attractions include Welsh Highland Railway (which runs for 25 miles to Porthmadog) The most picturesque and historic town in North Wales with its famous castle; entrance to the the castle is an additional cost. Beaumaris is a captivating seaside town, with its mix of medieval, Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture.  Its name is based on the Norman ‘beau marais’, meaning ‘fair marsh’, a description of the site chosen by Edward 1 for the last of his ‘Iron ring’ of castles, constructed in his bid to control the Welsh.

Chester : this walled city is well worth a visit, with its Cathedral and array of Shops and Museums. Option of a boat trip ( extra cost)
