Included:
Tour of the Yorkshire Dales to include Thirsk, Helmsley and Thorton Le Dale: The Yorkshire Dales National Park is in northern England. It encompasses thousands of square miles of moors, valleys, hills and villages. The Yorkshire Dales is home to outstanding scenery, great castles, abbeys and a breathtakingly peaceful atmosphere.

Thirsk is a traditional North Yorkshire Market town superbly positioned midway between the stunning North York Moors and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It is near to the medieval city of York, Harrogate, Ripon and our county town Northallerton. A wealthy, friendly little market town in Yorkshire’s North Riding, Thirsk is otherwise best known as the home and literary inspiration of James Herriot, the well-known and well-loved vet whose books about his work spawned the television adaptation All Creatures Great and Small.

If you were asked to imagine the perfect English market town, then it’d probably look a lot like Helmsley! There’s the bustling market square, the dramatic castle ruins, the charming tea rooms, the inviting inns; all surrounded by mile after mile of the beautiful North York Moors. Indeed, the Cleveland Way and Ebor Way both begin from here. Helmsley is the only market town in the North York Moors National Park,

The thatched cottage by the babbling beck in Thornton le Dale is one of the best-loved sights in the whole of the National Park. It’s a highly picturesque village, centred on a tiny triangular green with its old market cross and stocks.

Tour of the Yorkshire Moors & Scenic drive to include Richmond: The North York Moors was established as National Park in 1952 – a treasured landscape in the heart of North Yorkshire, protected for everyone to enjoy. We cover 1,436 square kilometres between Scarborough, Thirsk and Teesside.

Of the 1,500 ancient boundary stones and crosses here, probably the most famous is Young Ralph Cross, adopted as the National Park’s distinctive logo. We like to think that this stone cross on the spreading moorland stands for a state of mind – this wonderful landscape, it’s saying, is somewhere to come and refresh your spirits. It’s the place where magical things happen – where the stresses and strains of daily life disappear, and where relaxation, holidays and adventure begin.

The original Richmond, a beautiful Yorkshire Dales market town, with Norman castle, Georgian architecture, a large cobbled market place, with museums and monuments, the fast flowing river Swale and magnificent views and scenery
