The Elan Valley Reservoirs are a chain of man-made lakes created from damming the Elan and Claerwen rivers within the Elan Valley. The lovely Elan valley has five lakes Caban Coch, Garreg-Ddu, Pen-y-Garreg, Craig-Goch and the more recent Claerwen reservoir.

Aberaeron:
is a picture postcard pretty harbour town, recently voted the ‘Best Place in Wales’ by the Royal Town Planning Institute. The graceful lines of Regency architecture of the houses and commercial buildings along the harbour are a distinctive feature. There is an option of a boat trip.

Steam Train ride from Aberystwyth to devil bridge. Travelling on the Vale of Rheidol Railway is the finest way to explore the stunning Rheidol Valley. Opened in 1902, the railway has been delighting passengers young and old for over a century. Listen to the sound of a powerful narrow gauge steam locomotive working hard to climb 700ft (200m) in the 11¾ miles from Aberystwyth to Devil’s Bridge. Birds of prey such as Red Kite and Buzzards are regularly seen soaring high above the valley floor and breath taking views can be enjoyed by all.
