this beautiful harbour town is steeped in maritime history, and remains one of the key working fishing ports in North Devon, reflected in the high quality local menus. Woolacombe regularly wins awards, including the ‘England for Excellence Gold Award’ for best family resort, Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday and it is currently the Number 1 in the UK as voted on Tripadvisor. Woolacombe lies between Morte Point and Baggy Point. This three-mile long stretch of golden sand his renowned for it’s cleanliness, water quality and facilities.

Lynton & Lynmouth: Two villages on the coast, one above the other, Lynton and Lynmouth where known by the Victorians as Little Switzerland.  Lynton is an attractive village with a museum and good range of restaurants, cafes, tea shops and ‘art/craft’ shops. The town hall is very grand and is home to the Visitor Centre. 600 feet below Lynton is the small harbour of Lynmouth.  The two villages are linked by a famous and ingenious cliff railway which is well worth a ride

The Visitors Centre, see and hear the fascinating story of over 40 years of Dartington Crystal then follow the Timeline from 1967 to present day and see how the first pieces of glass were made in our museum section. Watch our talented expert Master Engraving demonstration create award winning works of Art;  You can watch the live demonstration of glass making and try the many hands-on activities they have to offer. (Visitor Centre and Glass Blowing – Extra Cost)

Steam Train from Bishop Lydeard to Minehead: 
The village of Bishops Lydeard is situated at the foot of the Quantock Hills and is where we board the West Somerset Railway to Minehead. On the journey we pass through the picturesque landscape and many stations including Crowcombe Heathfield, Stogumber, Williton, Watchet, Washford, Blue Anchor, Dunster before arriving at Minehead were you will have free time to explore this popular seaside resort. West Somerset Railway the longest Heritage Railway in England.
