Kent Christmas & Choral Evensong

Kent Christmas & Choral Evensong

Faversham is one of our most historic and yet least known market towns. Arrive for lunch at midday in Faversham before an afternoon of shopping and sightseeing in the heart of Canterbury with the option to enjoy Choral Evensong at 5.30pm sitting in the Quire at the very heart of the Cathedral.

Arrive in Faversham for 11.45am ready to enjoy an early lunch at midday. A roast chicken or vegetarian lunch is served with tea or coffee at a mediaeval pub full of old beams and a massive inglenook fireplace. Choose and pay for any bar drinks or desserts as desired on the day. After lunch explore the remarkable 475 listed buildings in the Conservation Area all within very short compass of the pub. Your top notch Blue Badge Guide will pick out the highlights for you. On Tuesdays and Fridays there is a market here.

On the way to Canterbury we tell the story of the mediaeval business of pilgrimage – the first tourists! On arrival you’ll see the most picturesque and interesting parts of the City and there’s time for a bit of shopping. Head home at 4.45pm or stay for Choral Evensong at the Cathedral. You’ll sit in the beating heart of the great church with the choir and allow their exquisite voices to lift your spirits.

There’s time to buy tea or a bite to eat locally before Choral Evensong begins at 5.30pm and you’ll be ready to head home at 6.30pm.
